ART VIDEO – Art for Art’s sake

Dancing light, found and constructed sound = Moving Pictures

Hi-fidelity is not the aim for my productions, catching an idea is the drive.

From the scratchiest capture of motion to the abstraction of sound gives impetus to creating statements. There maybe a loose story and plot, it exists within the timeline, you just need to find it. I assume there to be some involvement by the viewer, not just passive entertainment, there’s enough of that around, I’ll leave that to the paid professionals.

Central Australia to Monkey Mia – Part 2

Using Google Earth, this video simply follows the full horizontal spread from Australia’s East coast to its Western side. Part 2 begins within the Central Australian desert and allows one to view the ever-changing textures of this wonderful country’s geology.

Pink Noise

This video is a reflection of what static noise from a mis-guided TV reception can reveal, allowing the viewer to indulge in the abstractions and subliminal visuals created within its chaos.

Intersection – Kew

The view from Studley Park Road at the multi-intersection at Kew Junctions, we explore the passage of time and how it is coincidental to our survival. A ticking bomb accompanies us at that intersection, potentially allowing the mayhem of collision to occur.

Pixel Music

An advertising display board had gone rogue and its board was divided into squares which mis=place its digital feed. The result was an ongoing barrage of changing squares, complete with bands, stripes, blocks, verticals and horizontals pulsing mechanically from one grid block to the next. The whole rhythmic process allowed the addition of a musical piece which had been improvised months before to match in perfectly to the beat and rhythm of the vision.
